From a letter to NPGMC

I asked:

Furthermore, can we expect to receive any more music to our mailboxes in this membership year? It hasn't gone unnoticed among members that a 3CD set wouldn't normally cost the equivalent of three individual albums and that new music was promised at the year's start, and some albums even referred to by name in the tour book.

NPGMC said:

Releases 2 the club r up 2 Prince. We feel confident u will get 4 CDs by the end of the year.

I asked this and note the intelligence of the answer:

Also, it has been reported by club members that have just received the set in the post that included inside is a copy of the One Nite Alone piano album, despite them already having received this when it was first mailed out. Will all members, regardless of when they joined, receive two copies of One Nite Alone? If this is not the case surely this would create an inequality among club members.

All members will get a copy of the One Nite Alone piano CD.

Kinda misses the point. I've sent them another e-mail about this last point.

But honestly, I think they just threw them in there because they've fucked up their order system and don't know who's had it so it's likely if u've had it already u'll get it again and if u haven't had it then this is your copy mailed out with the live set like they said it would be.

Little purple fucknut.

What on earth made you think you would get a reply that a) makes sense, b) answers your questions. If you read the threads around here you'd know that there are no answers comming from the club. Not because they don't want to, but because they haven't got a frigging clue themselves.

And why is it people always want to know. Be surprised. Open your door one day and find,...another copy of the ONA CD.

Exactly...

Usually an e-mail from them just leaves one with more questions than before.

But hey, no harm in trying I guess... if it hasn't frustrated you into giving up yet.

Your questions are condescending. I'm suprised you got an answer at all.

With your extra ONAlive simply put it on ebay and count the money as some way of a rebate to the $100

Actually..lol...I've had more than a few back-and-forths with the npgmc thru emails that have been startlingly candid, to be honest...the last time I had an email convo with them(or at least with someone there), they indirectly asked me to not post their responses on a website...lol...(I think they didn't wanna have their responses to me being taken as official npgmc stances)...whoever said up above that the folks we write to really do want to respond with specifics but can't because they themselves aren't given specifics is pretty much right on target.

If I remember correctly, someone got their membership revoked for posting all the emails they got from the NPGMC...:O

Maybe that's why it's taken so damn long for them to send
out new product, because their mailinglist got messed up.

It's probably cheaper for them to just give everyone a cd
of ONA again now than to figure out who got what and to
then make seperate packages and then still get complaints
about people who haven't received it etc etc.

O.k., but why do they have that huge amount of piano CDs left, at least the double quanity originally nedded?

And this is the reason why, stated above. I've had similar situations to this when somebody has actually gone out on a limb a little bit.

This letter isn't condescending either by the way Berry. I could condescend a damn sight more.

I think maybe some people are missing the point. I don't think everybody will end up with 2 copies of ONA the piano album. U're telling me to be happy with that but I suspect it'll only be some people who already got that CD earlier in the year who will have the good fortune to receive another copy because NPGMC has buggered it up and is throwing all the spare CDs in there just in case.

I'm sure they're all paranoid about fucking it up, which will probably lead them to fuck it up.

As usual though, it's wait and see I guess.
