I bet Prince liked Sinead's version, or He wouldn't have let her sing the song.

He mentioned her in the liner notes for the Diamonds and Pearls album,so I guess he must have liked it at one point, regardless of what happened later.

My favorite version of that song is the one Prince did in Buenos Aires. No other version comes close to that in its simplicity and passion, not Sinead´ s version, not the Family´s version nor Prince´s various other interpretations of that song. La Coruna was also nice.

the song is beautiful. she did it justice.
apparently prince wasn't happy with her 4 covering it & told her so - she told him 2 fcuk off, he slapped her & she spat on him.

That Family album is up there with the Jill Jones/Taja Seville albums he did on Paisley. So much creativity. He was caught up making Under the Cherry Moon when the Family album cme out but if he had been in the states more it probably would have done better with him putting some muscle with Warners and maybe doing a tour where they opened up for him. I always like Sineads version of the song, just has a lot more depth and the nysucak arrangenent seemed stronger. Video is outstanding with most of it showing her face and I think at the end she sheds a tear.
