This radio station plays some really good music. Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

Yeah, but I have heard the worst song for a while on this station - Cheatin' by Dwele. Never heard of that before now, please tell me that's not a big US hit.

I think he should be able to do whatever he wants with proteges, as long as he doesn't try to trick his own fans into buying into them just by association. Like today, if this little hint of something special on a radio station with no time or details is just more promoting Bria Valente, that's taking advantage of our patience and enthusiasm.

so did the dj say anything before playing the song, and are we sure
it's a prince penned track and that the singer was bria valente? i suppose they would say something to that effect, right? why else the post on dr funkenberry. so what now, can i stop listening to the radiostation? naturally, i just missed the track as i was out to the vet with my dog for all of 15 minutes, lol. damnit, you listen half the day and they play "it" in the 15 mins time window you're out. guess that serves me right for even being bothered and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I totally understand your point. He's too old to call himself producing a "protege". If he was just making music with another person, that's cool (like he did with Stevie), but I'm over the protege. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I have already managed to get rid of handclapsfingasnaps amongst other power tripping mods over at prince.org and now this big fat canadian jerk is next on the exile list. nice try luv4u except this time your “holier than thou” attitude has come back to bite you in your big fae loose canadian ass. again, you will not get away with what you are doing to members at prince.org I cannot wait for the games to begin…time to turn in your badge fatso, there is a new sherrif in town! # graycap23 Says: September 17, 2008 at 6:51 am HA! someone HAD 2 say it! this woman has been abusing her mod powers from DAY ONE! # HamsterHuey Says: September 17, 2008 at 6:53 am y’all leave luv4u alone she is cool in my book # Rolling Says: September 17, 2008 at 6:57 am YES! Ben please get rid of luv4u because she is a very abusive person and if she doesnt like someone she deletes there account without any warning or reason whatsoever. she has done this many many many times since she has been a mod at prince.org # anonymous Says: September 17, 2008 at 9:16 am Prince To Release 3 Record Set! Jon Parales Union Times September 17,2008 the office phone rings at noon yesterday.on the line is Jocelyn Anderson Black. Ms.Black,as she is known in the industry, is doing promotions for a major record label here in LA. Her newest client is none other than the purple imp himself,Prince! Ms. Black informs me that Prince has just completed a brand new 3 record set and surprisingly invites me to come to her office to hear the album in it’s entirety. There are a couple of conditions.no notes are to be taken,no recorder of any kind will be admitted and no song titles can be revealed in my review…WHEW! I have been reviewing albums since the late 1960’s and have never had demands like this hence i find the offer intriguing.fast foward a few hours later.. I arrive at Ms.Blacks office and am ushered in by 2 security guards who promptly check me for recorders, they find none. After the “security check” i am offered up refreshments and a comfortable seat next to a hi def stereo system. I am left alone in this room with the new Prince album(s) and i am stoked! By the way, when i say album(s),that is precisely what i mean.laying on the desk next to the stereo are 3 plain white record sleeves each containing a record. The only information listed on the actual vinyl says “Welcome 2 The Dawn”,i notice this slogan as Prince has been using it since the early 80s. I carefully place record 1 on the turntable and drop the needle. WOW! there is an immediate explosion of funk/ rock that sounds like something George Clinton would have concocted circa 1970! the 1st track lasts barely 2 minutes and mainly serves as an introduction,it is great. there are 5 other tracks on side one and each have a very Princely feel.there are drum machines going berserk, screaming psychedelic guitars and of course those falsetto voices all over the place. Side 2 on the first record comprises only two tracks and sound as if they were recorded back to back with a simple line up of guitar, bass and drums, rock fans will play this side often! Things take a dramatic turn with the second record and not in a predictable way. The second record here will surely conjure up comparisons with the purple one’s 1985 album Around The World In A Day. The 10 tracks on record two are languid,mid- tempo and psychedelic to the point of gibberish…maybe it will grow on me as it does contain some beautiful instrumentation such as mandolin, harpsichord and flutes…alot of flutes! Now onto the grand finale, record three. This is where Prince seemingly place’s his crown firmly atop his head and returns to a sound that his die -hard fans have awaited for since 1982. record 3 contains sparse, minimal electro funk cut from the same cloth as his 1999 album.the entire 3rd record is brilliant and shows what this guy can do when not encumbered with being current or making hits.this stuff is ahead of it’s time all the while sounding familiar, not an easy task for most. I have been informed that this set will be released on vinyl only and will be sold at retail stores such as Best Buy and Circuit City by years end. the price $19.99 that’s our Prince, bless his purple heart. -J.
