Which Prince Song Do Find Hard To Deal With?

Prince can write some pretty emotional stuff as we know and he can affect all of us deeply in some way or another through his writing, his delivery of his songs and how strongly the words resonate with something we have been through.
Doves Cry has the most significance for me due to my childhood...yet I dont have difficulty listening to it because I feel like someone knew what I was going through at the time.....
However one song I do have issues with is Solo...and it has nothing to do with the lyrics lol Its the fact that it sounds like Opera lol Ugh my poor ears

Now what I want to know is what is the song u have the most difficulty listening to and why? It can be because it rings to close to home, makes u cry...or for a reason akin to my superficial reason, as in that it near makes ure ears bleed or u just think the music/lyrics are crap (no I dont think the solo lyrics are crap btw)

Go....

IT from 'Sign O' The Times'.

I like the music and the beat of it, but I don't know about the lyrics. I mean, Prince has written much better sex-soft-porn material than this. The words, except the lines 'it feels so good, it must be a crime' and 'I could be guilty for my honesty' are quite unnecessary.

I have compassion for songs that Prince sings that must've been inspired by something sad, such as "Solo," and songs that describe the condition of the world are also a reminder of the disappointments the whole world can feel looking at it as less than peaceful for everyone.

I've learned with music that it can take you up and down if you are a sensitive person.

I used to have problems listening to the radio. They may play the song, "I miss you," by Klymaxx and it gets sad to feel, and then around the corner will be, "Car Wash," as an example...So I try to keep myself at a calm realization of how moved I can be in a short period of time.

Prince's music does the same thing for me...It takes my heart up and down and through different emotions...I respect the power of music and I allow that filtration to strengthen my spirit.

I am sensitive person so have to be careful what I listen to and when. When Dove Cry - can sometimes set me off, and I avoid Purple Rain cos that really makes me sob - I can just about hang out till the harmonies at the end and then he just sounds like an angel and that does it for me.

I hear your voice - such raw emotion is really hard - even thinking about it now is hard.

So Dark - not so bad but on a really bad day can set me off. Sometimes just the line in 17 days can have me floods - I want a call you and beg you to be near me !!!!

So much emotion sometimes its just a sea of tears !!!

Purple Rain has beautiful lyrics, I think it's the only song that makes my eyes wet all the time.
I really can't get tired of that song, I love it so much that I could die listening to it.

I usually skip the ones I find hard to deal with falloff

Don't get me started on Animal Kingdom... heard it once and once was all I needed. Those lyrics are EMBARASSING disbelief

And for the longest time, Endorphinmachine I found hard to listen to. Can't quite explain what it was, but there was something about it. Maybe just the title and the way he says it grated on my nerves lol but these days, I'm generally cool with it.

"Lions of Judah" There is one little bit in there that is not bad, but it is surrounded by so much utter ickiness that it's not worth the pain.

As for Prince songs I can't listen to because they touch a painful chord with me....don't have one. The Prince songs that stir my emotions, happy or sad, are the ones I love the most.

I know I haven't listened to all of his music yet,but lately the one that bothers me,and I skip is Papa. It's disturbing, and depressing. I heart Solo, very haunting, soothing, and I love how he goes HIGH and then LOW. Purple Rain,is the reason I even found the org. The lyrics are beautiful, but I don't really get emotional until he hits that guitar solo at the end, then it's over I am bawl I haven't really figured out why it effects me so much, but it just does. mushy

I can't listen to the spiritual songs in which he no longer agrees with the lyrics originally wrote. "The Cross" for example, "The Ladder" "Holy River". Because I still believe in them. It hurts to hear it. Sometimes I'm so mad. It seemed like he was going in the right direction, at his own pace.
No matter the ©️, Paisley Park "official can never ™️ prince. He gave that to us verbally on Oprah in 1996. You can't take prince away from us, corporate. I mean O ( + >

I've more or less banned Purple Rain from my ears. Because something about it will turn on the waterworks with me. And I don't play that shit lol

Truth be told, I don't like the song "Solo" either. It's one that I skip over every time, because I just can't listen to it, it makes my ears bleed. I'm surprised at how many people say that "Purple Rain" makes them cry, because it never has had that effect on me. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. smile

The one song that I REALLY have a hard time dealing with is "Right the Wrong", just because the song SUCKS. I hate country music to begin with, so that is probably part of the reason why I hate the song so much. And it doesn't help that Prince says, "Yeehaw!" at one part of the song. ill Corny, corny, corny!
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I keep having problems with ExtraLoveable. Musically it's great but the "" I'm sorry but I'm just gonna have to rape U" lyric is really disturbing. What the hell was het thinking??? Trying to be funny? stfu It definately isn't and it's the absolute low-point in Prince's career.....

I love the Come album, but the licking sounds to that song make me never want to listen to it, same with Orgasm on the same album

I LOVE SOLO!!!!
I think its one of his best vocals on any song, the song is majestic,& ethereal, if only prince was this bold in the 90's, now this is BOLD!
unlike "Jughead" "dolphin" "We March" or other 90's gems
