i heard on some stops on the tour, the venue coudlnt' allow in the round staging, so they had to do the show on a regular stage.

anybody have seen these shows, and of course the dortmund footage. cuz mainly the show is choreographed for in the round, so i would llike to know how they did alot of the stuff- mainly the car parts.

I can't imagine it being done on a regular stage, there just wouldn't be enough room!

it was performed on a normal stage in frankfurt on 27th august '88. i think there was some others too.

3 shows in Rotterdam (de Kuip) were front end stage. but they must have used the original stage. I remeber the Car driving around.....

It's true. I've attended the show in Frankfurt 1988. As far as I can remember there was a cadillac on stage, but it didn't made the full turn - it stopped somewhere in the middle. The scenery: big clouds on each side of the stage an a lot of logos like "LoveSexy", "Yes" and "NewPower" painted on the background. All in all the Frankfurt show was quite poor, with less action compared to the shows on round stages. So, I far more enjoyed the Dortmund gig the same year.

I don't know if it really was that different. Of course, Prince only had to play one side of the stage, so he was facing the whole crowd all the time. that is an advantage in mu opinion. It is hard to tell, i attended one concert in Rotterdam and saw Dortmund (still have it). I was thrilled by both.
