It's from the 'Undertaker' album from 1993. There are official promo CDs, but they go for in excessive of £200 IIRC, so that's the only official way of getting a hold of the album, or this song.

There is the VHS release of the Undetaker, that's also an option.

Edit: Also made available through the NPGMC as a download.

That's a pretty dope jam. guitar I love it. And Prince looked pretty yum-o while he was playing it too. I like that look with with the halter top, and shells and chains and all. biggrin

Anyone knows if the actual performance included other songs then edited out 4 the video release?...IIRC they also played Peach...am I wrong..? Boris I'm waiting 4 u biggrin

P.s.1 - I've always imagined The Undertaker album (and performace) should have been:
- Intro (the music played on the video before The Ride, when Vanessa Marcil enters Paislay Park)
- The Ride
- Poorgoo
- Honky Tonk Women
- Bambi
- Zannalee (complete Trio version)
- Calhoun Square (Trio version)
- The Undertaker
- Dolphin (complete Trio version)
- Peach (Trio version)

that's just a dream wink

P.s.II - Michael B. once mentioned (in a thread here on the org) that they recorded a Trio version of "Solo"..completely different than the original.

Why, for f's sake, was Zannalee given an official airing and The Ride shelved? Shoulda been the other way around! (was The Ride considered too good for C&D?)

perhaps it didn't get released anymore because he included
a live version of it on "crystal ball". same goes for the
release of "days of wild".

perhaps he thought they worked better live?

but wait, wasn't half of the Undertaker album released on
the npgmc?

not sure if the 10+ minute version of "The Ride" was ever
released though. if not, it damn well should have been.

Yeah, but C&D was well before CB... why put Zannalee on when you've got the Ride hidden away?

indeed, you're right. i got my facts mixed up there for a moment.

and on that note, why not include "empty room" on C&D? i know it
was on there at some time and then he took it off again. shame.

could have been a truly classic album with The Ride, Empty Room
and perhaps Calhoun Sq or Da Bang on it instead of some of the
lesser songs like "right the wrong", "dig u better dead" or the
horrible "i rock, therefore i am".

it feels like he's almost shy to release a full out rocking cd,
filled to the brim with hardrocking classic tunes.
