Hey, I was listening to the song "Purple Rain", which I LOVE, and I was wondering if anyone else noticed this too. Well first, are you a Tori Amos fan? Well, I am, have all her CDs, ect, and I noticed at the end of "Purple Rain" when Prince is singing those really high long notes in progression, it sounds exactly like Tori Amos when she sings those long high notes on "Hey Jupiter"...I wonder if Tori was listening to Prince when she wrote the song cause it sounds exactly the same. I know this post is probably weird but everytime I listen to PR I think about that lol....I think Tori like Prince. Has anyone else ever noticed that?

I'm not familiar with her work...although anyone that goes into music is probably familiar with the "Great artists."

Tori never officially released her version of "Purple Rain". And she is pretty open about Prince's influence on her music. I spoke to her once, and we talked mostly about Prince. "Hey Jupiter" is an obvious lift...good song too. I like the remix, great video as well.

ive definetly loved tori for awhile. and yes she has talked about prince being an influence. i always heard it in her music anyway. cool someone mentioned this and her cover of purple rain. patti smith also does a great cover of when doves cry.
