Albums like Purple Rain and Sign O The Times are considered milestones, what are his new milestone albums?

From 1990 an onwards, what are his new milestone achievements?

I think The Gold Experience is a major milestone and his best 90s work. It recieved far too little attention.

hmmm hard question, i really couldnt say that 3121,Musicology or Planet Earth are Milestones cuz they feature nothing that P hasnt already done beforehand and i thought The Rainbow Children was far to weird for me lol infact his last great album in my eyes would most probably be The Gold Experience or maybe Emancipation even if it does have alot of filler...but i wouldnt call neither of them milestones either 2 be honest confused

I think Musicology and 2004 was kinda a big deal, wasn't it? When it went down.

First: I dont think PR is a milestone album. Dirty Mind is.

After SOTT I think TGE en TRC come closest. 3121 gets a lot better in time but I don't consider it a milestone yet .

Just TRC really.

Musicology and 3121, milestones? They're full of predictible fluff and filler, I think people are confusing a brief showing on the pop charts with genuinely good material. confused

Sign o the times a milestone? For WHAT? It's over-rated, and I barely noticed when it was released.

For some real milestones:

DIAMONDS AND PEARLS - the last word on those who said Prince was washed up in the 90's.

EMANCIPATION - Prince doing things his own way. First 3 CD set.

THE BLACK ALBUM - lots of controversy surrounding this release.

CRYSTAL BALL - Prince's first four CD set. First CD to be sold through the music club.

MUSICOLOGY - Changed the way the RIAA did business !!!!!

YES! I agree. The Gold Experience is definitely underrated, and is a milestone. I love "Eye Hate U", especially.

Gold is just about the only thing of substance since then. Emancipation comes close. The rest is just filler.

emancipation

and i'll have 2 agree with musicology changing the way RIAA counts sales now
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Musicology and 3121 are both good, but the latter is musical brilliance!
