Well, couldn,t b copyrighted 1983 since :
-Rebirth of Flesh & We can Funk r from 1986.
-Open Book & Schoolyard r from 1991.
-Wonderful Ass, well it depends, 1 version is from 1983 & the other from 1986.

Anyway, eye agree all these tracks r great & would make a good "Crystal Ball 2" album, but eye'm sure u could always find here some people here sayin ' "it's shit, eye HATE Prince".

Peace, let's hope he eventually releases all dis great stuff...

Which "original" version of 'We Can Funk' are you referring to? Lest we forget, the version that ended up on 'Graffiti Bridge' was based on the backing track of the original song (then titled 'We Can Fuck'), so I presume you mean the version recorded with The Revolution in 1986, which I consider to be the superior take.

Incidentally, there are no less than six different unreleased versions currently doing the rounds.

A number of these songs as someone already posted weren't even written after 82/83. So the album right there is a no go.

But even if this were not the case some of these songs are sub-par if not flat out suck-ass... see School Yard, Open Book, Wonderful Ass, and Elec. Intercourse.

i forgot how is was to post here.

ok peole get it straight. obviously this is pure fiction i.e. the released year. so get that off your mind. I PERSONALLY do not think electric intercourse nor Open Book are wack songs. In fact I'm quite sure he could have a hit with Open Book. SERIOUSLY! This was all hypothetically speaking---i hope i spelled that right.

I don't care for We can Funk (original version). I think the Clinton mix was far superior. Schoolyard blows too.
I would love to have the others released.

I think he could still release Open Book in today's market. Granted, I think it would have done better in '89. I also think Electric Intercourse should have come out as a single in 84-85.

Woulld be one of the best released Prince had put out.

people would'nt even TRY 2 put Gold as one of thier favorite album(s) if this was one!

Man this would be an album of ages, and would've fit GOOD after 1999!

The Clinton mix DID feature the backing track from the original version of 'We Can Funk', though.
