Prince lesser known song gem - "My Love Is Forever".

A really lovely song from his very first album. It has a great melody throughout the whole song. I also think that this song is pretty significant as well. The song gives us our very first listen, on an official Prince solo album that is, of his guitar playing skills. His big guitar showcase on the album, 'I'm Yours', doesnt appear until the very last track of course. But his playing on 'MLIF', even though much less dynamic than on 'IY', is really just as great. The guitar sound, right when it hits in both parts of the song, has such a beautiful and sunny feel to it. Would you all agree that his playing definitely has a Santana feel and influence in it too? A great song.

I don't know how to comment on Prince's influences, because I just believe that a music lover...loves music.

"For You," is my favorite Prince album...nothing less than angelic. "My Love Is Forever." all I can reply to for this song is..."I agree." cool
"The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

This is one of my favorite Prince songs. It's an overlooked gem IMHO. Whenever I list it among my favorites people ask me where it is from because they are not familiar with it. For me it's the lyrics, the vocals, the music, basically everything. The delivery altogether is so sweet. This song feels good sonically and spiritually. I just love it.

It's got a pretty good burst of Prince's guitar solo skills. I'm Yours really puts him in orbit for that, tho.

I love this song, very under-rated cut. I always thought, what if the lovesexy band or the musicology band would have played this? It would have been off the hook! Those r the only bands I know that would rock tha joint.
