Unrelated? The polls about Prince, Prince sues and reads rather than bothering to even create a career upside. What's irrelevant? Why should I vote?

It's irrelevent because it has nothing to do with the topic of the thread. It's akin to certain other Orgers responding to a question of "What's the best song off Lovesexy" with "Like OMG Prince is SOOOOO HOT!"

Uh...hardly.

The question asks about Prince's career.

What exactly does Prince's career consist of at the moment?

The two things I listed!!

omg

MADONNA come on. She has a few god songs here and there but shes not all that for goodness sake VOTE PEOPLE
I see Prince having long jeopardy in his carrier longer than all of the others on that list.

Madonna has a good shot regardless of her output because unlike MJ and Prince, she's kept herself in the spotlight.

I'm not big on anything she's done lately, but if keeping her name on peoples' lips was her goal, she's doing something right. shrug

I never said she didnt have a good 'output' whatever you meant by that; just saying in my opinion shes not that great regardless of what shes done in the past shes not as consistent as an artist as Prince is. Opinion remember

But regardless of her choice of producer, new material from her gets far more airplay due to its pop appeal. I think Madonna has a few more years but that's it. As a 'proper' musician she's lacking somewhat when compared to the likes of Prince. He'll go on playing but that doesn't mean to say the general public or commercial radio stations will like/be prepared to play it.

Can someone pleaaaaase explain to me why Madonna is such a huge thing (besides her extreme body-look which will soon enter her into a bodybuilding contest!?)?

She hasnt left the public eye...she hasnt made too much of a fool of herself in the 90's..she's consistant...her music is good and dancable..and in a pop world where its over run by the likes of Britney Spears,Ashley Simpson,Rhianna..ect..she remains the standard.I won't understand why people on this site just won't give Madonna her props..which is much deserved.afterall she gives Prince his props.

Rolling around with Justin or singin songs produced by Pharell to stay current makes you a SELLOUT of good music because the substance in her music to me is gone. Whether shes in the top 20 good on her but to me gone were the days where her music made sence. Prince's still does whether it charts or not. Theres still more hits from him

There'll be a lot more music I will want to listen to from Prince. Whether it'll be heard on Radio 2 is another matter altogether (don't even bother with Radio 1). I'm still unsure if the poll is asking (who cares really?) which artist will still be well-known in the public eye, ie fame through recent output, or something else. Pop tends to turn an ugly eye to old age. It's fickle and full of life and newness. Why does it want to see icons of the inevitable approaching death?

Off topic but it kind of ties in with the pop world and the young: "If she looks really young to you, you can be sure you look really old to her."

hmmm I would never bet against Madonna. She's proven to be an expert at handling her career and staying in the spotlight.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
