"Purple House"

I'm listening to Prince's amazing and vocally intense and soulful cover of Jimi Hendrix's tune "Red House" retitled "Purple House" from Power Of Soul: Tribute to Jimi Hendrix and I just wanted to know who's the band backing Prince on this recording. I suspect it's John Blackwell and Larry Graham but it could have been Prince's new rhythm section. Anyone knows?

Yes, a live version on the DVD.

A studio version appears on the tribute album mentioned above.

Oh, ok Tora thanks, I always thought he was referring to Mayte in that line because that's basically when they split up...., next question, is Mayte Puerto Rican ?! biggrin

Oh, and I thought it was pretty impressive stuff....he looked exhausted when he finished it though... how did it compare to Jimi's Red House?
