Hmmmm - now thats a big call and to an extent i agree (with the full length Dance Electric as the B-side)

Despite his sound engineer begging Prince to release cause he thought it was such a great track he decided against it in the end because the lyric about "rape" really began to bother him. He could have edited it out but I guess it would have messed with the tracks intricate programming.
Anyway it was an early case of self-censorship on Ps part. | |

Likely. But I don't think he's rather interested in doing that. He was about to release it back in 1999/2000 on the 'Crystal ball Vol.2' double cd set. Guess what happened? I'm quoting it directly from the Org: 1999: Prince's announces via his (then) website Love4OneAnother that Crystal Ball II was being compiled, and fans are given the opportunity to vote from a selction of tracks for inclusion. But after many months nothing more of the album is heard of or indeed, ever mentioned again. The album continued to be assembled in various configerations throughout 2000 (a compilation video was also being put together at the same time). The full final tracklisting for Crystal Ball II is not known, but it was going to include the following tracks, amongst others... Electric Intercourse Love & Sex Xtralovable 3 Nigs Watchin' A Kung Fu Movie Evolsidog Adonis & Batsheeba Eye Wonder Others Here With Us American Jam Lust U Always Strange Way of Saying Eye Love U Everybody Wants What They Don't Got Girl 'O'My Dreams U're All Eye Want Turn It Up Kiss - Xtended Version (never released b4) Katrina's Paper Dolls The above tracks were voted for by fans at the first Celebration in 2000 (from a list of 22 tracks). But by the time this 'vote' was instigated, the album had already started to be sequenced. Seemingly, voting would only have a marginal effect on the finished album. With that in mind, it's pretty safe to assume that the 17 tracks listed would have made it onto the finished album. One early rumor about Crystal Ball II was that it was just going to be a no-frills 2CD set, and would be shipped in sleeves for 'Kamasutra' and 'The Truth'. The Idea being that you would take the 'Kamasutra' and 'The Truth' discs out of your existing Crystal Ball round case and replace them with the new 'disk 4' and 'disk 5' of Crystal Ball (II), and then use the new sleeves for the 'Kamasutra' and 'The Truth' discs. The main reason it was shelved was Prince's new religious beliefs. A lot of the material Prince now deemed too racy (particularly a lot of the videos), and he also felt the need to 'leave the past in the past' - regardless of lyrical content. I just got this track today! Its funkin ace! (and I read the purple politicians post about his screen name at the exact time that prince sang those words which was spookily cool :LOL: )
The track I have is a little scratchy though - its from the work. I'd love it if he were to release it. Top quality, classic prince track! Its gonna get some serious air time from me I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off
