I Love "The Dance."
I love the shy hesitation of Prince being afraid to risk his heart for the last time. The song grows through the temptation of falling in love, bringing fantasy with the fear as the dance between them.
Prince asks for her hand by saying, I don't want to be friends without being lover's, and beg's her for the courage she also needs, which is the climax of the song.
The falling action is Prince still being teased by the fantasy of being with her...as he screams with passion..."It's just not fair."
Once again...Prince says something I am uncertain of...Something about making love in the North Pole.
The song is highlighted with the happy ending's possibility.."Let's dance sugar."
What a sweet and sexy love song.

I love the song but it made me kinda confused because it seemed like he was trying to get Mani back in Love and Fury ("Im still yo man")..but trying to move on in The Dance

I think it's 'against the pole' not the North Pole ! The Dance is sublime, I could listen to it all day, all night, and just forever really!
