Vague recollection of Prince selling a purple keyboard sampler?

Okay so this was several years ago, but I swear I remember hearing somewhere that Prince was selling something called a purple axe or something...?

It was a keyboard with tons of samples from his music.

You could purchase it for only a couple thousand dollars?

I know that he sold a CD collection of samples for a massive amount of money, but I believe the purple keyboard sampler thing was something different.

Am I crazy or am I right? And if so, has anyone bought either the keyboard or the CD samples?

Prince never actually sold the keyboard or the CD set.

The Keyboard was the "Purpleaxxe" which was used during the 90's
(usually by Tommy Barbarella). It was never commercially manufactured
and was never advertised as something that would ever be made available
to the general public. It was used exclusively by the NPG. A gold version was
also made for use during the Gold Experience tour (called the "Goldaxxe").

Also, the 7 disc CD Sampling set was never manufactured or sold either.
Prince advertised it around 1999/2000, but in the end he shelved the idea
and no copies were ever manufactured or distributed.
