Chris Brown attempting to sound like Prince? Chris Brown has a new song out. Over at Dr. Funkenberry's you can hear it. Nice try Chris!!! Mr. Funk misspelled the title...not sure what it is supposed to say.
Sorta sounds like Chris, R Kelly and a very weak attempt at Prince to me. What do you think? Sorta makes me laugh he's trying so hard. Doesn't he have his own sound????

The song's alright. There are Princely moments like the drum beats and the guitar (which like y'all said, he would've slayed it). The song is nothing to go crazy about but it isn't bad either. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

Well...He has a lot of songs that are written and produced by The Dream. This artist admits he is influenced by Prince. Not sure if he wrote this track though.  | |

not quite match prince.....but hes tryin .. he did good the music ok.... but the lyrics is great ... beautiful words too l be very surprise to hear if prince actually wrote this and got chris brown to sing it..... lm sure prince could do far better.... | |

THE VOGUE OF IMITATION
chris brown does not sound like prince the track, which its highly unlikely chris brown had anything to do with is attempting to imitate an 80's prince sound, but thats about it. imitation of a sound. princes music has a combination of superior things going on. vocals, arrangement, and lyrics. everything about that was 100% below average, i cannot believe there is an article about the idea. wtf.  | |

Definately heavly Prince influenced. Beat,synth and lyrics and obvouisly the guitar solo. I hear a Beautiful Ones mixed with Purple Rain feel.
On another note. Chris Brown's other song Take You Down reminds me so much of Do Me,Baby. Sorta like an updated version. Some people think I'm kinda cute
