Ulysses/Gold The Ulysses/Gold time period was his last great time period in my opinion.I think this may have been the collection of songs Prince believed in the most before it was released. This should have been a double album instead of two separate ones COME/GOLD.Alot of the songs have many different remixes and i have found at least 5 instrumentals from songs off the album done by him.The album should have been a hit.And if he had given TLC the universal love remix of space i am guaranteed that would have been a hit.

I've always felt that the 'Come' CD should never have been released.Instead,Prince should have taken the few good songs on it and added it to 'The Gold Album' (as it was called back then). In addition, add a few more strong songs from this period, like "Love Sign","Hide The Bone" and "Ripopgodazippa",and Prince could have had a killer CD in the summer of 1994.

Or he could have taken a few songs off Come, a few songs off The Gold Experience, and threw in a couple Mayte cuts like Latina Barbie Doll.
Just a thought. | |

The tracks on the Come album became too finalized imho, when they were placed on the final release...those songs kicked ass BEFORE...
True, that the Come album (although I really like it) seems incomplete.

Leave them the way they are! I love both albums and the sound of them is too distinct to mix together.
Release The Undertaker instead!

I think you have to be extremely hardcore to love those albums. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

No "Days of Wild"? And wasn't "Reeeep-Oppp-Go-Da-Zipppppa" a joke? [This message was edited Fri Nov 15 11:38:44 PST 2002 by nas3110]

Extremely Hardcore like you need a good shrink No, you don't. They're both great albums with weak moments. Everything he's done since, apart from "The Truth" and "Rainbow Chile" has been the opposite - poor albums with great moments.

I agree that both "Come" and "Gold" were the last great things he did, but I think "The Truth" and "Rainbow Children" are every bit their equal. In between we've had "Emancipation" (a masterpiece buried under mediocrity), "NPG Soul" (three classics, the rest filler) and "Rave Un2 The Corporate Marketing Plan 2 Turn Me In2 The Funky Santana" (it was OK, but "Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic" was a much better album). He didn't release "High", which was an excellent album. That said, Prince is now definitely back on track, back on form and back on top of his game. He's making Prince music again - stuff that sounds like nothing you've heard this side of radio.

I have a lot of friends who hate most of Prince's music, except for the Come, Gold, and Chaos albums. They come from the white-boy, 20-something rock world...
