P.Y.T.... MJ and the P influence?

MJ's 'Pretty Young Thing' was rocking my ipod on my way home from work...
I'm walking along, get into a little groove and at about 2mins into the track, i notice some non MJesque elements in the song

Infact, to me it sounded like this song was pretty heavily influenced by Prince...
we have: grunting, heavy breathing (sexy dancer), kiss noises, call/response, low soft sexy spoken word and finally.... they high sped up voice at the end (although it sounds like he hired micky mouse for this).

I could be wrong. They may have simply shared influences (infact I'm sure they did).

BUT

It sounded to me as if Michael was trying to keep up with Prince's nasty stuff. Would anyone else agree with this?

It also weirded me out a little, cause Mj has always always seemed like the opposite of sexy to me.

People can always make comparisons between men that are in the same field...especially with Prince and Michael Jackson being the same age...running on the same stages of the world's musical pages...

Although when it comes to heavy breathing...bump and grinding...and soft pillow talk...There isn't a guy in the world that doesn't put her woman through that... cool

Um, I don't think Michael was even thinking about Prince AT ALL when he recorded that album. I swear, it's like some people on here see and hear Prince in everything lol. Hillarious.

Thriller was definitely influenced by things Prince had done, if not through Michael then at least through Michael's production team.

Yikes, I didn't mean to upset anyone... I just wondered if there was an influence on this track. Not all that familiar with MJ... that's why I started it as a topic. If I was certain of my theory, I wouldn't have opened it up for discussion.

I actually thought that it might have been a bit early to have been influenced by Prince.
