Mary J.'s "The Love I Never Had" & "I Hate U"

I enjoy Mary J.'s track, but IMHO, its similarities to "I Hate U" are too hard to ignore. Thoughts?

That MJB track was mentioned during an interview for VIBE magazine during the mid 90s right after I Hate U got its release, and an excerpt of the lyrics was also printed there if I recall correctly. It got released YEARS after that interview and didn´t make it onto that mid 90s MJB album ( Share My World (?) ) , I guess because it was a blatant rip off . Remember that song is a Jimmy Jam / Terry Lewis production, and I guess its another one of those cases of mutual biting between Prince and Flyte Tyme, as usual. Been going on since the mid 80s. You can , for instance, hear some very Prince-ly melodies on Janet Jackson´s Control album, also produced by Flyte Tyme. One song even bears a little similarity with Possessed ( on Janet´s album).
They have constantly been "influencing" each other. lol
Good to know I´m not the only one who noticed this.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I thought MYM ripped off I would die for you with "I'll tell your mama I'll tell your friends, I'll tell anyone cause I can't comprehend" It's similar though not the same.

Also, Jody Watley's Still a Thrill is very Prince, the ending reminds me of Kiss.
