There has been speculation over why we have not heard new music or a peep out of Prince in general. I can recall an interview, I think it was, a London press conference ( not sure ) where Prince stated that he would be taking time off to study the bible. Maybe this is the case, what do you think?

Yeah he did, I thought he said he was going to take a year off, that year is nearly up now, so looks like his funky ass will be funky London real soon.

prince has never been able to avoid music for a long period of time.. he'll be back soon.

Prince performed a new song on the Tonight show recently, and has been performing at his parties in LA. I agree with FunkyBrotha that Prince can't stay away from music, and my guess (after all, that's all I can do) is that Prince has been recording all this time.

In interviews Prince has stated that his abilities come from God, so why wouldn't he do "God's Bidding"?

As for studying the Bible...that's nothing new, he's been doing that for years.

Yes, Prince did mention in the press conference for the 21 Nights in London
shows that he'd be taking some time off after the shows were over for Bible
study. However, after the shows (as we know) he didn't disappear completely,
instead he moved to LA and put on the odd celebrity bash and was seen out
and about at various clubs (mainly the Green Door) during his stay. Who's to
say he wasn't doing Bible Study at the same time like he said (it's not like he
couldn't do both). He's certainly been recording songs over this period too.

it is very important to study the hebrew and greek-roman aspect of the Bible...both the old and new testaments are very important...i first started my path with the Bible since the age 3..(i started with rosaries aswell)....always with me.....always there ready at reach....always there to guide me.....very important....prince i would love to Bible study with you....mine is white with gold letters....it also have a color map...i have been using it all my life in times of guidance and truth....the Bible speaks of many things and people...places like Enor...of the many prophets....the armies....the revelations.....you come to a point in life when you have to be ready for all the wonderful glory of God.....first you have to be good inside....for the outcome....when?...would always be the question...that no one can tell....only God knows when...i need to be prepared...i need direction....prince your knowledge and understanding can move the energy...the channel is through our psyche....can you sense the call.....my protection is always with you.. since my birth...mzsexybaby

You guys make it sound like he has to seclude himself from the outside world to study the Bible. If he's approaching the Bible like a full-time job, that's still only 8-12 hours a day. He could easily kick out an album this year still.

I don't think he will (I think career-wise he's focusing on the book release and promo).

I can't wait to see what his new stuff eventually sounds like . . . this new Bible knowledge should stir up somethin'!

It seems like he has had a busy year.
