He's probably drunk too.

We Can Funk with The Revolution is SO much more a SONG than the one with George Clinton, which I like also...

Joy In Repetition's original intro.

Old Friends 4 Sale's original lyrics.

Clouds's original soundscape.

Rebirth Of The Flesh's studio version with the word MOTHERFUCKER unedited.

I like NPG In This Funky House's original better cuz in that version I can hear my own voice.

Yes, you have. It is the sample Prince used to open the Lovesexy album with, over which he had Ingrid proclaim the rain is wet, sugar is sweet text.

The original is by Deliah Derbyshire. Prince sampled it without crediting it. I say that without knowing if he was obliged to.

The 86 version of We Can Funk kicks the album version's ass. I have also got better versions of Something in the Water and Erotic City.

As you can tell by my earlier post (the one that was ON topic), I agree on the first song. BIG time.

I personally think the other two were perfect as presented on their original release. Erotic City's alternate remix WAS great to hear becuz of the unheard instrumental and vocal parts, but these did not ad much, except make it somewhat more messier. The released version is MUCH tighter and therefor better. To my ears, at least.

The Something In The Water rehearsel is actually recorded a few years after the album version, as part of the Purple Rain tour rehearsels, if I remember correctly, so it's not eligible, if that's how you write it.

I have the same with Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic from that same performance, compared to the officially released version.

It's more ALIVE.

Oh lawd. I am going to say Computer Blue.

There is the really wild demo, less polished, even hokey compared to the released version, but oh so HAWT.
There is the 1983 first live version that RAWKS.
Then there is the extended studio version, with all that guitar feedback that just makes me horny.

In the name of every sane Prince fan I demand Prince releases all three versions on a CD single on www.NPGmc.com

That's easy:
Computer Blue
The Beautiful Ones
Darling Nikki
I LOVE the o.g. versions before P edited them down for the Purple Rain album. More screams, loger guitar solos, etc. I dig P's version of "Dance Electric". I know my boy A.C. released it so this might not count but ask me if I give a fuck. I know everybody's always harping on how the alternate version of "Something In The Water" is better but it isn't. The one that's on the album KILLS the alternate version to me. "We Can Funk" is much better than the released mess.
