Don't know if anyone has run a thread on this before but thought I'd start one anyway...

Are there any Prince lyrics that you heard and thought 'whut?!', 'wtf?' or 'what in the hell is that supposed to mean?'

Just one off the top of my head is 'When we're makin love it's like surgery'... am I missing something here?

Well the first one I have never heard,but I guess he could mean that both surgery,and sex require some skill.

1+1+1=3.. since he says "If your going to be with me 1+1+1=3" I took it as whomever he was with had to agree with whatever he thought was so..but since 1+1+1 does =3 that would'nt be hard to agree with.

"The opposite of NATO is OTAN." I have never heard this one either,but OTAN is NATO spelled backward,so maybe that is all he meant.

Prince says alot of stuff that makes me go WTF.

I just smile, and act like I know what he means. It made my life alot easier. <--I grin like that.

But on the serious tip, that NATO/OTAN stuff was a major headscrather.

No, seriously, I'm pretty sure 1+1+1=3 is about the Trinity. Prince is saying there's a theocratic order, meaning there is just one God, not one God divided up into three parts.

"The opposite of NATO is Aten" is what Prince is saying in the other one. Aten represents the origin of monotheism.

man + wife + god = trinity/perfect union
