That's a bit out of order!!! Luckily for him he said in London last year.. "Soo much SOUL, London' and I think the majority of the audience was white...

I think it's just some people in general that don't have a sense of rythm, not just white people, heck I'm sure there are even black people that don't have a sense of rythm,it really just depends on the person.. Prince Yeah Oprah looks like she has no rythm during Prince's concert on her show.

Watch the Aladdin Live DVD - he makes up a new "dance" called the Ozzy Osbourne (slightly altered) and stumbles around stage like a lost mentally-challenged old person.
I didn't really think that was funny - not because I was offended, it was just not funny. I expect more from a world-renowned musician (and that was only a few years ago). And you guys lost your frickin' minds when Justin Timberlake made a joke about Prince's height ...

"all the white people clap your hands on the 4 now... 1 2 3 FOUR" anyone else hear this? With the exception of me and my fellow Prince fans, all white people lose any funkiness they may have had by the time they reach 30. There should be a law that says white women over the age of 30 are not allowed to try to get funky on the dance floor. This may be news to the non-Prince world, but doing the hand-jive DOES NOT qualify as funk. You are saying that Prince fans are excluded from this, right? I was funky back in the day, and I am just hitting my prime now. You can't touch this Peace. Love. Prince

What about tall people hey! No-one ever has sympathy for tall people. It can really suck... the only dudes who want to dance with me are tiny men with with a fetish for tall women. It's creepy. (although if P would be into that... I'd be cool) I'm not allowed to wear heels without being told off by everyone, and people never hesitate to call me a freak. I deal with it. it's fine... but I still laugh at people when they can't reach something

Prince Hell, there are a huge amount of black people that can't dance to save their lives. LOL I used to be street dancer and one of the best dancers I've ever seen was a white girl.

Even though i like this song, that line really bothers me.
What if a white artist had sung "all the black people clap your hands"? Sorry to say, but i find it rasistic. Freedom is to trust that you're doing what you must according to your lust

I love this song, even if i am being made fun of. Perfect for grooving along to in my car and causing embarrassment when I pull up at the traffic lights perfectly placed on the album too I think

I wrote a few threads about this song in the past. Should have been a single. But black radio played it so much, it might as well have been a single. Whether or not you have rhythm also depends on the kind of music you listen to. I'm a white guy, but I love funk music and have listened to it for years. I love playing funky guitar and I've only played for about three years but my teacher tells me I have better rhythm than a lot of students he's been teaching for twice as long as me.

Also, regarding Prince's remark about white folks having "no soul"... tounge in cheek or not, it IS a sweeping racist comment and quite offensive. But hey, it was 1982 and Prince was an asshole back then.
I'm guessing it must've been tounge in cheek though considering The Revolution were mostly white.

Uhmmm.
Prince always like to tease the white folks. During the rehearsel in Holland on the ONA tour, he said something about there being alot of white folks. He then counted the coloured peeps. I was glad somebody spoke up, saying something like "White people can be funky too" after which he laughed and said "We shall see. But if you are funky like Candy", (who was in the band at the time) , "then you are awright". LoL I just found it funny that after years of trying to unify people in his lyrics, he would make a statement like that. He found a huuuuge white audience with his rock angle, and in Holland he never lost that audience.
