Prince should have let Morris Day play the character of Christopher Tracey If this had happened the movie would have worked and been a hit.

 disagree..yes, morris has more of a giggolo ( think thats how its spelled) persona than prince..but prince is far more witty and he plays a more better role of arrogance than morris does..that movie was enough with jerome..and morris being in UTCM would have been a "parade" of two fools![Edited 8/14/08 9:02am] ..In her chills, I'll force a burst..Erotic thrills, so good, it hurts..My motions 2 her velvet, she'll strike it as love..Rain from her pelvis..ended with doves.. | |

Any fans that were hardcore back in 86' will remember how amazing it was to finally get a glimpse of the real Prince in UTCM.
before that, the only time he ever spoke on camera at length was the MTV 1985 interview which was NOT HIM BEING LOOSE/NATURAL..(mildly because it took place during the filming of the movie) But... UTCM was for many of us was the 1st time we realized that Prince wasn't some spooky/weird/crazy artist guy..but, rather a very Cool/hip/funny/talented guy.. Prince HAD 2 be Christopher Tracy !!! | |

I like Morris Day. Really, I love the guy. When it comes to big, overblown, OTT characters, MD is the man.
But CT was witty and slick and of course a little sexpot. Morris is a nice looking man, but Prince...there's something entrancing about him. And hell, it just worked with Prince in the lead role. It always works with Prince in the lead role. Think about it. If this were 1986, what would put your ass in the seat at the theatre? Under the Cherry Mooning Starring Morris E. Day OR Under the Cherry Moon Starring PRINCE. I'd be like those Star Wars guys, sleeping in front of the theatre waiting for opening day for Prince. Can't say I'd do the same for Morris.

the movie was great 2 me. Bit complex how a family with with an American mother british father and british daughter based in France. shoulda just been shot in the UK But i got to admit you could see the true prince. Everything from his sence of humour to his humility...like in those love scenes..what a beautiful thing 2 see  | |

I've said this for years on this site. The only real problem with the movie is the death scene. I have a DVD copy where I cut out the death scene. Movie is much better... I may have the jelly 4 ur peanut butta but u got 31 hours and 21 minutes left. | |
