Just been watching Prince, 1981, New York... ... Shit, he was good. Such vivacity, chutzpah, ebuilience and talent.
The guitar is naively splendid. The stagecraft non-existent. Andre and Dez have absolutely no idea what they're doing... Matt Fik is hilarious. The raw talent shines through the songs. They are magnificent. I've the Paris concert to watch next... I actually can't stop smiling. | |

brilliant shows....I cant seem to watch the guitar wank during head even though its being "played" very funkily. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

 Prince was a hot young, sexy thing in that concert.
"Head" made that show for me. And not the part where he was masturbating his guitar either. I like right before the song ends, he moves to the right side of the stage and for a few seconds with his back to the crowd, he bends over...

I don't see that Andre and Dez didn't have any idea what they were doing. Not at all. I always thought that Dez was the one, besides Prince, that had the best stage pressence. Everybody up there with Prince, Bobby, Lisa, Fink and the other two cats already mentioned, they all fit what Prince was doing visually. Dez and A.C., I thought, complimented Prince very well. Dude, I forgot aboutt he way he kept toying with his hair! That was killing me. All my friends were like, what is he doing? His hair is jacked already, quit drawing attention to it! It was outrageous! 
And I was trying to play it off like, oh he sweated and it puffed up. They were like hell nah, he went onstage from the first number like that! I tried Princey. But I loved your wayward appearance. So sexy and naughty! I love a Man who:

I actually thought Prince moved like Mick Jagger in this era. He still didn't seem to comfortable just yet. His Guitar solos were not "there" just yet. But his rhythm playing was great. | |
