Happened to watch MTV's TRL this week with the Jonas Brothers hosting. When asked about influences for their new album (assured to be the #1 album in the country next week) the response was "Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello and Prince."

As someone who doesn't listen to their music I don't know if there's anything Prince-ly on their CD, but that's what they said.

I dont know much about their music, but I just happened to be watching the teen choice awards so I could see Mariah Carey and I saw them talking and the one with the curly hair kind of looks like Prince, and I read an article in Rolling Stone that says they just wanted to be seen as a real band.

Cute band...I really like all of the shows that Disney has on television for kids..

Whether we like them or not, The Jonas Brothers are influenced by one of the best out there and they bring Prince's name out to the kids who don't have a clue and that's great. They get points for that, no question. As for their music, I don't know if I've ever heard of any of their songs. Not like that's a bad thing ya know.

Not shocked their ''influenced by Prince' dude is King of music ..sayin Pop would be undermining (yh i said it) Most artists are influenced by him whether u can hear it in their music or not.

Hate them (Jonas Brothers though) that whole fake 'indie' look and sound irritates me. As well as most ''artists'' if i should call them that..that come out of disney their sound/look is soo manufactured.
