Prince and Amy Winehouse - tell me... I wonder if Amy Winehouse will be on the 21 nights aftershow CD? Was is it a good performance? What did she sing?
I think I read somewhere that Prince had tears in his eyes when she sang? Is that true?

I've never been a huge fan of Amy, mostly because of her drug abuse and unhealthy lifestyle, but lately I have been listening to some of her live recordings, especially the one where she is alone with some guitarist in a room somewhere (check it out on Youtube), it's brilliant! I can see now why Prince would give her the chance to perform on this special last night aftershow.
I just hope it was good, that it's included on the cd, and that she realizes she was on Prince's stage!!! ' [Edited 8/13/08 0:19am]

It would have been nice to have this on CD. The song has more potential than the performance on the Winehouse album and the NPG Indigo version (and one night on the main stage if I'm not mistaken) was infinitely better. I'd settle for a non-Amy Indigo version of the track, but the real thing would be better.

I was at the aftershow when she performed with Prince...it was a legendary performance by both...she seems in awe of Prince (or maybe she was just stoned ?)

I was there as well. It was an amazing performance. prince played several blistering guitar solos during this song.
It was the first tune played on the 21st. They opened the curtains a few seconds after the intro and we had the massive surprise to discover Prince and Amy Winehouse together on stage.

I've read that his duet with Beverly Knight was better.

And her towards him? What kind of tension was between them? No he acted like he was on of point of crying. He said something like " what a voice, I need to put my shades on ". Like if he needed to hide his tears with his shades. Then he made a comment about her saying that she had to be looked after by all of us. Prince during the performance was very relaxed, extremly professional and his guitar work was absolutely stunning. I thought Amy Winehouse was a lot more impressed by Prince than he was by her. She was a bit tense. It is true as well (to answer a different comment) that Berverly Knight was on fire to the point she reminded me of Tina Turner at he best. She was really into it. If the Amy performance is on it, and Indigo Nights is eventually available in stores without the book, he might shift some units outside the hardcore fans for once.

The Amy Winehouse performance isn't on the Indigo Nights CD.
(one of the Beverly Knight performances is though)

I was there too, she was definitely in awe of Prince. I thought she looked well and sang brilliantly. The appearance seemd to go down very well with the crowd and it was a great surprise to see her centre stage as the curtain went back. A great start to an awesome show. RIP

P's guitar work was astounding but Amy was obviously having an off night in the vocal department, I'm afraid... She sounded really out of it

I hope Amy is now a Prince fan at least. She once said in an interview that "you either grow up in a Prince house or a Michael Jackson house", and she grew up in an MJ house.
She could be like me though, big fan of both.

shelby sings it better imo man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

the last night, the 21ST. Personally i thought that beverley knight's per4mance was better that night, also Amy said mockingly afterwards, that P kept launching in to neverending guitar solos while they were doing the song...

If she said that, yes she definitely grew up in a MJ house!! What is Prince without a guitarsolo? And then I don't care how long it is...!
