I was telling someone about it and we were snickering over how awesome he is! I thought he was just sucking a lollipop though, didn't know about the quincy thing, but hey, I only knew about it through some VH1 countdown.

The whole slave/against the industry thing I suppose. That or he was like "I didn't sing this s*** a decade ago, what makes you think I'm gonna do it now?!?!?"

lol

falloff xactly but i think he was up there because of his contribution of 4 the tears in ur eyes but not 4 the actual we r the world song
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I love it that he didn't sing. He didn't participate in it when it was first recorded, and those were good artists that participated in the original. But 10 years later, just look at the stage full of dull ass artists that were up there. They would have had to beat me to make me participate. lol

Actually, he had received an award of his own that evening and they were just pulling entertainers out of the audience. Anita Baker's dull ass was on the stage also and she was basically unknown when the original was recorded. Several people on that stage didn't even have recording contracts until the late 1980s or early 1990s. They had no contribution to the original, they just happened to be entertainers and were at the event that evening.
