If Prince stepped out of the spotlight

Prince turned 50 this year. Yeah I know.... duh...

But that got me thinking...

It's been debated that at 50, Prince is "too old" to do certain things...on stage and off.

So, what if he pulled a Lawrence Welk? For those who remember, he was a band leader.

He had a show...I think on Sundays, where he lead a band and younger people had segments where they sang or danced.

Now....What if Prince did this. Not on tv on Sunday morning....not the ballroom, elevator music Lawrence Welk was famous for, but Prince's vision.

This is how it would work...

Prince would be introduced and he would lead his band playing a song....not singing....not playing any instrument....just leading the band.

Then he'd introduce the first segment....

And so on until the end when he says goodnight.

It would be a tour.

Would you go?

Prince would be there, so I'd probably go, but I'd not like it that he was just the band leader/mc. I've never been into his side projects/proteges nor have I really been into his band members. I LIKE them okay, but I'm into Prince...period.

What about you?

Assuming that you meant "when" he feels too old (I think at 50 he still has a lot left in him to perform and maybe churn out a decent but non-groundbreaking album) I feel he would just quietly pull out of scene without making it symbolic... I don't know why I think this and have nothing to base it on so lol.

The only reason I don't feel he "needs" to make a big goodbye is that I'm still a new fan and still exploring his music... it would take years for me to truly sit down and listen to his official studio albums... let alone B-sides and unreleased stuff lol... I don't think he needs to prove anything... whenever he wants to stop he can... but at the moment I still think he has a lot in him... I mean just last year at the O2!

If Prince is on television at all...He would still be in the limelight...If Prince was a Monk...He'd be in God's spotlight...

I don't know what you are getting at...although whatever Prince did...I'd lend him an ear or a wink... cool

I knew this was a bad idea!!

falloff

First....it's wouldn't be on tv....like I said...a tour.

Second....I'm not saying Prince is old. 50 is not old... like I said "it has been debated..."

This would be Prince's choice...not a "farewell tour" just Prince the band leader and his show.
