I've championed this God (Love Theme From Purple Rain) MANY times on here. It showcases some of P's best guitar playing. I've had this since it was first released. It was an import, the b-side to the 12' of Purple Rain. Also on the b-side was "God" (vocal). But yeah, P's musicianship on this is killin'. Not just his guitar leads but everything. Yes, that's P on the drums. Many on here has never even heard this...I know my girl Jennifer ADORES this song. ALMOST as much as I do! SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Yep this is an all time favourite of mine. And like the man himself, it's a great track to be getting down to. Infact, a little re-enactment never hurt no one! | |

Ok, I'll give you that one, just!  But, no one adores God vocal more than me. Seriously though, I had the 12" of this too, and played it non stop, I loved it intensely before I ever saw the film, and as I've said before I was a bit put out when I realised they were using MY music for the love scene!! God instrumental is sublime. To me, these two tracks (and Purple Rain of course) ARE Prince!  Oh, and just to add to that, I think it's one of the best pieces of music EVER written, by ANYONE, ever.... that's the truth![Edited 8/8/08 12:51pm] | |

I LOVE "God" I've been looking for the instrumental for ages, I've only heard it from the movie. 
I think I have the vocal on a cd...but I liked the instrumental better. Its extremely sexy. It shouldn't have been a b-side...Shoulda been on the damn Record. [Edited 8/8/08 12:41pm] | |

Totally. It's one of the best 12' Prince ever put out, along with 'America'/'Girl' and 'Pop life'/'Hello'. GOD Instrumental...
