I seem to remember that fans have shouted out the titles to unreleased songs when he's asked for requests. Don't know specifics though. if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

I think he'd be cool about it!

saying something like that 2 him wouldn't bother him as much i think. prime xample was when he started doing empty room at the celebration and how that whole place lit up with recognition. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Here on the site...I have mentioned the song, "Spirit.." I don't think it would upset Prince to request the song...whether or not he'd play it is another thing... "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I'd like to tell him I and dozens of my buddies enjoy watching live bootlegged shows that I took with my camera phone. He'd probably go beserk. the music knows what your motives are when you are making it

I remember during the 1st Celebration, they came around with cameras and asked people going on the tour what their favorite song was. I was like "Wonderful Ass," "All My Dreams," "Extra Loveable." They looked at me and said... "Um, how about you just say Purple Rain." It made it into the final Celebration fan vid they played at Northrup. lol
Of course, that makes my Prince (Kevin Bacon) Factor a 1 Degree of Seperation. Ha. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Anytime I've seen people mention unreleased tracks to Prince, he seems quite pleased by it. Now if you were to sit down one-on-one with the man, he'd probably want to know a bit more about your philosophy on creative "license" and more. Then that might change some things. i wanted to start a thread like this for a while. walk up to him like "small club rocks!" or "i love that rehearsal of you singing noon rendezvous". maybe he'd slap the taste out of my mouth . truth is, bootlegs have done nothing but further solidify his greatness in my eyes and i'm not sure if i would even still be into him as much if it wasn't for them . you get tired of listening to the same tracks after a while . even with a (released) catalogue as big as p's . For all time I am with you, you are with me.

R U talking about the same song that is on Martika's album? Yes, sweet Tame is talking about the same song. There is an unofficial version with Prince's vocal. Powerful. But I prefer Martika over this one.

Yeah, I'd tell him my favorite bootlegs. And if he had a problem with that, my response would be, "Tell me how to buy them from you and I will".

Original version from 1985. Re-recorded for the 'I'll do anything' OST in 1993. Then there's another studio version from 1994. But the only released version is the live one from the 'C-note' live soundcheck album from 2003.

at a tv studio i once asked prince when crystal ball 2 was going to be released, and i asked him to put in all my dreams on it as that was one of his best songs. he asked me where i got it, i didn't reply, and he shouted "security - bootlegger!" but he was only joking. i then suggested he released the music from the vaults as a covermount cd with a magazine like the old NPG ad. a couple of years later he did the npgmc with a similar monthly theme, but downloads instead of cds, and he gave away PE with a newspaper in the uk
it could be coincidence, or i could have planted a little seed i was also at a tv show with him in a different city the day before, and talking to the band afterwards, and when i was let into the tv studio the second day, i bumped into prince in the corridor and spoke to him, but no-one believed me when i told them, but then the warm up guy started off his set by telling the audience that they were all told not to look or talk to prince, and they let one of us in the studio and within 5 minutes someone is talking about the weather to prince backstage - then they believed me! and then when the band came on and larry spotted me and came over to say hi and i introduced him to my friends, including one he spoke to on my cellphone the day before, people then started to believe me, and when prince came onstage and sat down waiting on the show to get ready, i took my chance to ask him questions i also got another good chance at one of the cellys, but i shouldn't really talk about that time, but it was way cool
