Poignant, I thought! I think he means he still is, just a little bit tricky these days. Can't get to the supermarket...remember he goes on to say, 'You think I don't miss it? Yeah, I miss it!'

Jeffner, who are you talking about? ...and why the heck would anyone miss going to the darn supermarket? That's one of the places I try to stay away from, especially with all the crowds and long lines, but of course it's something I have to do to bring food in my house.. What can I say, I guess it's my impatience of being a New Yorker. [Edited 8/7/08 7:23am]

He mentioned not being able to go to the supermarket that's all!

I usually go early in the morning on a weekday if I could get the time off or sometimes its best to go to supermarkets that are open 24/7, but go after 12 am when it's hardly crowded in some places. (I can't believe I am having a discussion about supermarkets but hey, it's the org, what else is new? ) ...and as far as the grass being greener....that depends on which side of the grass, I mean life is what you make it isn't it? Taking a limo to the supermarket would draw attention, you want to be incognito, so you wear a disguise and go in the wee hours of the morning to do your shopping then you'll have all the freedom you want and will be able to keep the overzealous fans and crazy paparazzi away.....(this is the funniest conversation I have had on the org in weeks.. ) [Edited 8/7/08 7:52am]

I really think he was trying to make a 'connection' last year in London, it was like he was trying to say 'I'm not a God, don't worship me, don't idolise me' it was a recurring theme... I think he wants to be 'just like us' - really!

We're SO hijacking TheNewWwatcher2's thread.... Well it's not like NewWatcher answered the question right?? But no, no Jeffner, you have it all wrong...sheesh.. Not lot's of security, you'll just bring attention to yourself Jeffner. Have your security come in with a shopping cart not too far behind you, no more than 2 security people, and don't have them so close to you, it will look too suspicious. Have one female and a male, Then forget the dark shades, why would you wear dark shades in the supermarket after 12am? There's no sun at that time. You wear some lightly tinted shades that can pass for prescription lens. Don't forget that you already have your disguise on so that no one will recognize you anyway. Definitely have to wear a wig with a color much different than your own hair color, so that it really hides your appearance. Also, try a different color makeup than your natural complexion, about 3 shades darker, to throw off anyone from recognizing you. Look at all the disguises Eddie Murphy had in one of his movies. I think it was called "Trading Places", see that's what you'll be doing Jeffner, trading places and disguising yourself as someone else. (This whole conversation is getting sillier by the minute).. I have always wonder if there was a struggle in how Prince feels about being so recognizable. He worked damn hard and enjoys his success. But it's not like other celebrities that can do a few things that regular people can. A disguise won't work for him. Even in that video where he dresses like an old man, I don't think that would throw off one of the people on the org. Does he thinks it's a blessing and a curse, or is he perfectly happy with the 24/7 superstar life? I think it would get old.
Prince, if you are ever in Denver and just want to get away, swing by my house. We'll BBQ. Peace. Love. Prince

The trick is to not look suspicious and blend in with everyone else. Jeffner, so you know, Target is having a pre-halloween summer sale...you better go get yours before the mad rush..

Prince's stature alone would gain attention. Since he's always 'clean' his attire would get noticed immediately even in Hollywood. I remember he was walking on Hollywood Blvd for his birthday like a normal guy. Then the papparazzi made something of it.

Well, I guess when you're that fine it's hard to cover up all that fineness. The man can't help it, he's been blessed.
