so i completely empathize with u jeff.. but a yr ago today i was living in ignorant bliss! i'll won't ever 4get the chills & thrills of watching him perform 4 the first time.. i don't remember any shimmying on his stomach, in fact there weren't any extreme dance moves on the 21st..but wow! the band & guitar, i was in heaven! the setlist was totally amazing, & what struck me was the love, & u can really feel it..sooo much love & high energy in tht room, & he was so proud of his 21 nights..'21 nights, i think so'... sky news filmed 1st part of the concert - i watch now & have 2 pinch myself cuz i was there!..i was ecstatic 2 hear love bizarre, i remember it was short & sweet, but felt like he sang it 4 me alone! the setlist, full of the hits, all my faves, it couldn't have been better. purple rain was something else.. nothing had EVER sounded so good - & my life hasn't been the same since ;-) That's Prince for ya! 
That Sky News clip, you should have seen me, I was SO excited watching it on TV, I was jumping around the living room like GO PRINCE!!!! I was nearly in the TV!! I wanted to be there....My little boy, was looking at me like I'd lost my mind!  He NAILED IT though....as always!  yessir!  controversy.. | |

I remember the night well,my girlfriend and i had an amazing night!!
The aftershow was the iceing on the cake !!!still got a recording on my mobile of Prince coming on to the stage {tried to film him ,got dived on by security]Got back to our hotal 5am beaming with happiness!! what an event!!! Prince is still the best !!cant what for the book! | |

I was there that night and it was a fantastic show. It was the 2nd of my 12 shows at the O2 and one of the best. I was also there on the opening night and missed the final encore when he came out with just his guitar for company, so was delighted that he started this show with a solo guitar segment. RIP  | |

Yes, EVERYONE was talking about that, if I didn't know better I'd have thought it was a publicity stunt, because at every show after that people were 'waiting' for the final, final, final encore from Prince in his dressing gown... However, knowing Prince (as I do ) it was just a spur of the moment thing, a need to get back out there, soak it all up, he was probably on a real high too... | |

I don't know how you can call it a 'train wreck' when it was so incredibly successful either! ahh no he didn't have 2 do those songs since the musicology tour was supposed 2 b the last time the same songs he did in london were played. a friend of mine who also has heard all 21 nights put it like this "when he was in vegas he sounded fresh, in london he sounded tired and the band didn't have the same energy" i think if u ate the same food over and over, u would get tired of it and that's how prince's concerts have been 4 the last couple of years, tired and uninspired. that stage is hot as blazes and even on the dvd's i have seen of this tour, he was coasting. indigo shows where were he stretched his legs somewhat and challenged the audience. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |
