I just bought the 1999 cd today... I am listening to it as I type this. I especially like the picture on the little book that comes in the cd. Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

I had that and Purple Rain on vinal and have no idea what happened to them. I am so mad at myself. Who knew that vinal would disappear? Peace. Love. Prince

I had Purple Rain or Vinyl, but my friend came over one day to play, and set it under some covers, and then sat on it. Needless to say it was broken, but by then they had it out on CD. There are two versions of 1999 - early versions are missing DMSR

I love the picture with the watercolours and paper, and his sexy back I love the flow of it and all the synthesizers, I like that and Around the World in a Day much better than Purple Rain.

Betta have D.M.S.R. or you take it back, right now!
Shame they left that off... Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

what i wanna know is, are there any songs from the album you heard were the "end all be all" that didnt necessarily hit you that way?
or are there even songs on 1999 you dont care for at all?

Shame they left that off... While I agree with you, it's become somewhat of a collector's item fetching a higher price. IIRC, the 10 track version of 1999 was not available in the states, it was only available as an import from Germany or Japan. Correct me if I'm wrong, but by the time it saw an official US release, it had all 11 tracks.

or are there even songs on 1999 you dont care for at all? FREE is absolutely abysmal. "International Lover" is pure filler. The rest of the album is great!!!!!
