Really love this song. One of my top favorite on the album. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

This song was the blueprint for cuts like "Something In The Water" and All The Critcs Love U", I feel. This was the first cut where P sounded like he was crazy as hell. I always liked it. I dug how I saw him on this tour and I bought a poster of him at this show of him on stage pointing a gun. He didn't perform the song the night I saw him though. Which was a drag. I wanted badly to see P perform this song cuz I was curious to see what it sounded like live. Plus I wanted to see him point a gun on stage like he did in the poster. His management thought P should pull the song from the set, and he did. What a double drag. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

one of the first prince songs ever heard...and loved everything about it! remember writing the lyrics to this song on the chalk board of my highschool math class...and people were reading it wondering what it meant..of course until the teacher erased it saying it was nonsense..and demanding to know who the author was..lol..of course she never found out lol ..In her chills, I'll force a burst..Erotic thrills, so good, it hurts..My motions 2 her velvet, she'll strike it as love..Rain from her pelvis..ended with doves..

love this song. even in his huge catalogue of diverse songs this
one still stands out among the few dozen really unique ones. when i first heard it i didn't really know what to make of it so i hardly ever listened to it but for the past 10 years it's been an absolute treat whenever i listen to it. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

hey, i used to write his lyrics on the chalk board as well usually before class so everyone came in going all :wtf: lol. one day in 1998 i was so bored during a class that i got up, walked past the teacher and just wrote the entire lyrics to "the good life: big city remix" and the rap from the remixed "come on" on the board. everyone was like what is he doing now? but we had a cool teacher and he just said "shall we look at these for a moment?" looking back tho, one has to be very careful what lyrics to write on the chalkboard at school. i mean. the rap from the song Come On??? wtf was i thinking lol tell me now what u heard the truth is apparant in the translated word this is all i ever wanted us 2 be 2gether in the truth, god + u + me tell me now what make a generation last smash on the gass when the devil try 2 pass freaks on this side movin so fast lovin this truth like miles love jazz and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Annie Christian is okay.

I quite like it.
I think the importance of this song is that its sort of Princes first experiment in psychedelic music put unto an album. The 'coda' of When were dancing close and slow (on the Prince album) allready is slightly psychedelic sounding, but Annie Christian is his first song with an overall psychedelic / experimental vibe. Later examples (Around the World in a day, Crystal Ball, Theres others here with Us) are more worked out / arranged, but Annie Christian is a first attempt to produce that type of material.

Avenging the Anti-Christ...was the only way. People can't think that the devil...and his anti-Christian posse...were'nt gonna have a fight on their hands. We are spirits in a physical world.
This song was one dart that helped destroy the liar. Thank You Prince. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

If you like to fight, you're a double-drag fool...wrong song, but I love Annie Christian. Very different sound but a great example of P's creativity and precursor of things to come.

Yeah, as a kid i found the song kind of disturbing and scary, I still do,....but couldn’t deny the guy was a bad ass, ….once upon a time he was brimming with creativity,...to me this album and the first Time album are the seeds of the classic Minneapolis sound.
