I notice people don't like Resolution much I am a big critic of Prince, but I even think Resolution is a decent song--good positive lyric. Usually you guys cum all over a Wendy And Lisa joint.
It's not the best song on that album, but it is a good song. All you others say Hell Yea!! ![]()

It came on while i was in the bath just 10 minutes ago and I risked an electric shock to skip it. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Usually, I don't smoke, but I'm a Wendy & Lisa addict. Anyway, I like 'Resolution' a lot, but mostly for the lyrics. While I prefer the arrangement on 'Lion of Judah'. Let's say that 'Planet earth' is not one of my favorite Prince records.

i think its one of the better tracks on the album, which i love anyway. its a little different for Prince and the bass line is actually pretty good.

I agree that Resolution is a bit cheesy (especially the lyrics), but together with All the Midnights in the world, this song is my personal 'highlight' from Planet Earth.
Not that these two songs are really great, but to me it showed Prince is still able to write and produce charming 'pure pop' songs. In the past he pleasantly surprised me with songs like When U were Mine, Raspberry Beret and Starfish Coffee, showing he could write charming, slightly beatlesque popsongs. Unfortunately after the eighties he has seldom tried to write this kind of songs anymore. Alltough those two songs on Planet Earth aren't as good as the examples from the eighties, i feel this type of music is the kind of field he still could develop himself in. He showed us he could 'funk' very often, he delivered exquisite soul-ballads throughout his entire career, he even showed us he could 'rock out' (alltough maybe not enough on record). But when it comes to 'pure pop' (especially semi-acoustic material) i think he might surprise the listeners to show what he is capable of. I wouldn't mind his new album being some compact version of 'Dream Factory' for example. Maybe he should 'really' bring Wendy and Lisa back and try to make the 'pop' shine on his next album. ![]() [Edited 8/3/08 5:17am]

"Resolution," is a sweet song...And it is nice of Prince to sing about making solutions...rather that sitting around a bunch of tables talking about them...to the point where the solution is swept under the table because people can't even agree on some of those things.
Every problem has a solution, Or a resolution. ![]() "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I have nothing against the track per say, it's just a bit of an anticlimax for an otherwise great album. It doesn't really go anywhere, and the sustained chord at the end might have seemed like a good idea at the time, but it just comes across a bit silly. But hey, it's certainly not a 'bad song' or anything. Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

i kinda like it. especially the verse that begins, "love is like a circle..."
i remember when it first came out, a friend and me were in the car and it came on. he's not the biggest prince fan, but he was like, "this is stupid." and then "good love" came on right after and he was like, "THIS! what is this?? is this old?" i told him it was from the late 80s and he said he wishes Prince would be creative like that again. i appreciate both eras tho.

1 of the better, if not best, tune of the album and the last 20 seconds are old school prince and revolution magic.
Methinks that many years of crappy overmixed, overcompressed, deep bass, high pitch, eardrum busting "music" from Prince, have made many deaf. If you dont like it just put your ipod on "Life o' the party" on infinite repeat. [Edited 8/3/08 6:55am]
