A Year Ago Today Prince makes History at 02

Ok let's see hands up who was losing their heads and licking their lips razz

'Big impact'

Much of the O2's success is down to the artists who perform there and the fact that AEG is the world's second largest event promotion company has helped draw in the big names.

Prince's 21-night residency in the summer of 2007 was the draw Mr Campbell has been most proud of.

Prince played of 21 nights at the O2 arena in 2007

"No-one's going to force him to do anything," he says. "But Prince wanted to return to Europe and make a big impact."

"He was keen to break the arena residency record, which was 14 nights of Pink Floyd."

"He is very big into numbers and wanted do a multiple of 7. So 21 nights it was."
Da, Da, Da....Emancipation....Free..don't think I ain't..! London 21 Nights...Clap your hands...you know the rest..

Prince must be very proud of himself having of breaking the 14 night record, doing 21 nights and also considering it was nearly sold out every night including the aftershows.
Yeah it did make a massive impact and boosted his career. It created new fans and bought back some of the old one.
Let us just pray and hope he does something similar again in the not too distances futureā€¦I think he will

We went on the 14th Aug, the 28th Aug and we went to the aftershow at the Indigo that night and our last was on the 1st Sep(Daddogg's birthday gift from me). Memories fade too fast dont they!. I can still close my eyes though and taste and smell the fanatical excitement in the air. I wish I could put that feeling into a bottle and taste it now and then....

My Dad did quite enjoy his 62nd birthday night. Especially Little Red Corvette.

I just loved the concerts although dont dare ask me about the Indigo. I cried like a baby right through. I was so close yet so far away, must of been about 6 feet away. WOWWWWW!!!!

The night I went every seat was full.

It was like going to an amazing party where everyone was in tune with each other. I am not sure who enjoyed themselves more, us or P.
