"The Everlasting Now" Appreciation.

"The Everlasting Now." Appreciation.

I love the guitar solo at the end of the song...The solo really does communicate something mysterious..
If we take the entire "Rainbow Children," ballad...it is in this solo, that the guitar is saying to the resistance...."Our affirmation of the Everlasting is all that we need." I love that declarative side of Prince as a musician. cool

One of the few Rainbow Children tracks I like unreservedly.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I LOVE this song. I play it all of the time at work. I prefer the live version over the version on TRC, but both are great.

This song kicks serious ass and once you hear it live, it's over. The energy he brings to it live is just mindblowing.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Affirmative. Declarative. Poetic and Believable. Thank you Prince...without these kind of demands on heaven's doors...a child is still crying...right...?

The Love we make...is Heaven...and Our One family does not need a hungry, or sad, or diseased child...because that child is within our family...We are as great as the weakest of us. Thank You God for bringing Heaven with You. Amen. cool

Deep meaningful lyrics and a kick ass beat.
Possibly the most personal he's ever let himself get in song form.

Upbeat and funky as shit...awesome tune!

I especially love the instrumental section toward the end where he kicks the FUNK into HIGH gear guitar (right after he says, "We ain't through!")...I believe the technical term for this is a "turnaround," right?

Anyway, whatever it's called, it's amazing and I remember after first hearing it I was like, "Damn, it's the return of the MPLS sound!" Devistatingly fon-KAY.
