Which version of Endorphinmachine do you prefer?

I remember being so hyped for this song before it was released. Although I like the version released on "The Gold Experience," I much prefer the original version.

The original. The Gold Experience version is another example of Prince fucking up a perfectly good song with too many overdubs.

everyone always says the orginal.

i love the album version. pushes all the right buttons. and sometimes being over-done is good. with that album, it is.

Original
the album cut has ,its either a synth or another layer of guitar that is just making the song 2 busy...but b4 i heard this original cut a few months ago,i thought "how can something beat the album version"
but then funkystrange sent me the original & yeah, its more Rock'n'Roll BABY!

The original version of "Endorphinmachine" is WAY better than the over-produced version that appeared on 'TGE'.Months before 'TGE' was released,I was listening to a bootleg copy that was more raw than the released version.

As it stands now- the released version. Just because the bootleg doesn't have the studio sound quality I like. But, if the bootleg were put on the album in studio form- I would probably prefer that. There's a couple of things he changed towards the end of the released version I like better- but the cowbell and extra synth that was added was unnecessary. I didn't mess up the song for me, but it didn't really add anything to it. The unreleased does have a more raw feel because the synth was left out, and that's why I would probably prefer it.

The version he played on Friday 17 March 1995 at Sheffield Arena is my 'original' version - and it is SOO much better than the album

The original version, sans helicopters, trumpets, glockenspiels and cowbells please. The original was great.

Same goes for COME.

Yes, I was there that night and I can confirm that the version there was plainly the best - By Far

I couldn't even identify a glockenspiel if it hit me over the head. Good thing he took it out of the TGE version. lol I would like to hear that helicopter version though.

Hey, I was there too! Just thinking about that last night - how I missed his performance of Get Wild on Top Of The Pops because I was seeing him in concert (same with Dorothy Parker on Jay Leno last year - I was at the show in LA).

I prefer the original version

The Gold Experience version is still very good,
the only thing that really spoils it for me
is the extra synth part that mirrors the guitar
riff (especially on the intro). The cowbell &
sirens I actually quite like.
