Does anyone know The Verve? I know this is way off topic and it does not concern prince (well..kinda), but do you guys know that one song by the verve called bittersweet symphony. The reason why I thought of them is because I mentioned Pink Cashmere and it reminded me of the verve's bittersweet symphony. Not being that Pink Cashmere sounds exactly like the song, but because both songs contain a nice symphony in the background which makes them both sound unique. Has anyone heard of them though, or if not, the song???

Bittersweet Symphony is the only song I'm familiar with by the Verve.
The string-pad is rather sweet in that song, but I have never thought of Prince for a second while listening to that song, and the track is pretty much forgettable IMO "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. If we crave some cosmic purpose, then let us find ourselves a worthy goal" - Carl Sagan

the symphony part is actually from a Rolling Stones song called The Last Time.
Apparently Richard Ashcroft got permission to use it as a small sample but they more or less made the entire song out of it.The Rolling Stones took them to the cleaners which eventually led to their break up. Their back together now with a great new tune out just now. [Edited 7/31/08 11:10am] Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I had made clear that the thread probably had little concern with prince, but thank you for your comment. [Edited 7/31/08 12:09pm]

"Does anyone know" Bittersweet Symphony? It was only one of the most overplayed songs of the 90s, perhaps of all time.

I am sorry if you took it the wrong way. I simply shared my comparison between the two. At the end of the comment I said, "Do you rememeber them (the verve), or if not, the song (bittersweet symphony)?" And I thank you that you have great eyes to see that this is not the right forum. I had clearly made certain to you that the thread had little concern with prince, so I had already known that it was the wrong forum. Thanks anyway!
