I am trying to decide between 3121 or The Rainbow Children. Which one would you recommend.

Is your money that limited? If so, I would choose, "3121," simply for the fact that "The Rainbow Children," was and still is ahead of it's time....It will be a long lasting demonstration of an albums capabilities on a very basic story telling level. Similar to the way, "Sgt. Pepper's." was delivered in the movie, of the same name.

3121 if you want a quick and simple pop record by numbers. TRC if you want something a bit meatier and something you'll come back to again and again to find something new.

If you have to ask this question then definitely go with 3121. But on the same token do you have most of earlier Prince? If you do then you may be ready for TRC. TRC, I feel, was like a transition piece for Prince and if you are familiar with most (90%) of his earlier material then you can see where he was going with TRC.

it depends on what ur willing 2 do, play it safe or b adventurous and get deep. cause if ur looking 4 the safe road then 3121 is the road u should take

TRC has flashes of brilliance all over it, but you have to let Darth Vader narrate the album's storyline to you, which is not only annoying, but could turn a motherfucker to the dark side of the force post haste!
