Hey pals in America.

By now you have all read about Princes delivery in Europe.

Although you have been spoilt for shows over the last few years, did you find yourselves getting jealous of the Europe shows? Do you want your American brother back on home soil already?

Which song did you read about from Europe and think "Damn, I wish he'd play that over here!"

Me bets you wish "The ladder" had been on the US leg. To me, it was a highlight, so to you, was it a "Damn!"

If Prince adds some "new" songs to the set, which ones will make the US and Europe jealous? To me, its "I like it there!" He better not!

Just curious.

I actually was very disappointed with the European setlists. Much too much old music for my tastes. It reminded me of the crappy "Hit and Run Tour". Been there done that.

I'm looking forward to the boots to see if I was correct in my thinking that the American leg was better.

Love machine has a point. I loved the Europe shows, but did we get TRC watered down with more "hits"?

I think Prince is getting bored with TRC, so the hits are creeping back. By the time he gets to OZ, they'll get the title track, followed by the a full hits show.

I'd like to hear that NightTown aftershow, but I haven't heard a great show in years. At best they've been decent.

Joey, I know we both have a "good" catalogue of shows, so what would you consider the last great show?

For me, Gold at the Point in 95, right after the emporium shows.

You?

For some reason, hearing that he tore up "Whole Lotta Love" left me feeling a bit jealous.

On the other hand, I didn't read as much from our Euro fans about the majesty of "AnnaStesia" and "Joy In Repetition" live on this tour.

Actually, he played "Whole Lotta Love" at the Toronto soundcheck, which was amazing! He also played Bambi which was a highlight of the show. He also did an ambient techno remix thingy with SOTT lyrics thrown in. I wish I could get a recording of the TO soundcheck... innocent

I'm jealous of the London shows that had Eric Leeds and Candy though... They were both there, right?? Good gawd, I would have exploded with glee! And Sheila??? Didn't she show up somewhere?? KA-BOOM!! omfg

Eric's first appearance was at the soundcheck in Rotterdam 15th. And he left soon after. Sheila played Milan and the last 2 Rotterdam shows.

As much as I luv Pop Life, SOTT, etc., I was very happy with the sets that I was privy 2 on the American leg of the ONA tour. The renditions of the TRC tracks gave them a huge boost. They sound much better live than on CD. Also, his renditions of old school classics like Sing a Simple Song and Love Rollercoaster were high points at both the shows that I went to. I don't think we got the short end of the stick at all. I'm sure the reason that the European tour found itself more peppered with hits is because he hasn't toured Europe extensively 4 such a long time. I'm certain they were great shows, but I think that most people that went to the US shows walked away not only happy but completely blown away.
The NYC afterparty was also absolutely jaw dropping. Alicia Keys, Doug E. Fresh, George Clinton (DR. FUNKENSTEIN IN DA HOUSE!), Musiq, Larry, I mean DAMN! I don't care how good the rest of the tour was, that night will be burned into my head until the day I die. Wouldn't trade that 4 ANYTHING.
And yes, we do want Prince back in this country! What kind of stupid question is that? As far as I'm concerned he could come back and re-tour the entire country, and I'd go 2 as many of the shows as I could!

I attended 8 shows in Europe and I thought they were all great. I'm a little tired of TRC,When he played I Got a Broken Heart Again and The Ladder, they were beautiful.
I had never heard these songs live, plus he left out most of the Avalache song, which was a very good thing for him to do.

Actually I think that this tour stands up with his best. He really was full of energy, what is the most important thing to me at a concert.
