WAS PRINCE EVER APPROACHED TO DO THE "WE ARE THE WORLD" PROJECT?

I'VE ALWAYS LOVED THIS SONG AND HAVE WONDERED IF PRINCE WAS EVEN ASKED TO CONTRIBUTE TO IT? I heard this was and is the biggest selling single of all time, is that true? Since it was Michael's baby I figure Prince was never approached mad mad eek

You can't be serious? HELLO (pun intended).

Have you ever heard the song 'Hello'?
It was about the night We Are the World' was recorded.

Prince was asked and declined. He gave them '4 the Tears in UR Eyes' which is on the album, We Are The World.


Not the biggest selling single.
That would be Elton John/Bernie Taupin's reworking of their 'Candle In The Wind' where the lyrics were rewritten for Diana's funeral. The only time Elton John has performed it other than to record it.

prince declined but in the middle of the sessions for we are the world prince called quincy jones and asked if he could contribute guitar solo and quincy said that it doesnt fit in the song so prince gave 4 the tears in your eyes
