So many people have orged me, asking me questions about the premire. Some have asked me about me meeting Dez...I had mentioned in the thread "Blackguitaristz on the 20th Anniversary Disc" that after meeting him, Dez signed my ticket. Here that is.

I love this one too. Don't know where this shot was actually taken from but when I saw P on the PR tour at the Forum, every night that I saw him, when he performed the song PR, he started off the song playing his regular axe. Then before he started singing, he took that one off and put on the white cloud. This pic shows something very simialr to this. I can tell just by looking at the larger image in the pic that, just by the way P is dressed, the purple trench coat, he's playing the song Purple Rain. P only wore this type of purple trench when he played this song on this tour. The other purple trench he wore during the show was the shiny metallic coat, which he wore during the song "1999". Then in the smaller image in this pic, he switched guitars. Now of course, these could be from entirely two different shows. Although P in both shots, P is wearing the same pants and same lace around his neck. I'm just saying that seeing this pic reminds me of what P actually did on the shows that I saw at the Forum. When I saw him again at Long Beach later on the tour, he came out with the white cloud during the song.

I really dig this shot as well. P's boots always matching his pants...Even though I wouldn't do that, it looks hella cool on Prince.

EVERYBODY I think, would have bought "Modernaire" as a single if it was released in the summer of 84. Radio would have worn that song out right along with Sex Shooter, Jungle Love and The Glam Life. And then that would have crossed over onto sales for his album. To not capitalize on that...wow. Warners didn't even have to promote Dez perse....everybody ALREADY knew who Dez was just on sight.

In hyndsight it is unbelievable that Warner sat on "Modenaire" and the associated album. With Dez's profile from 1999 and then with "Modernaire" in Purple Rain movie it would have been a commercial slam dunk. "Modenaire" is a great track and it would have been very cool to have heard more of Dez and Prince collaborating on the album.

That pic of Dez with his band is cool. Never saw that one before. I think if Jesse's Revue and Dez's band had toured clubs in 85 that would have been killa!!
