Prince Take Over Broadway! Prince, I know you read these forums so please consider this. I watched Tim Burton's Willy Wonka film yesterday. I've also been deeply researching the whole "Dream Factory" sessions from 85 - 86. I know that you had toyed with the idea of Dream Factory being a broadway type stage show. Why not revisit that? Imagine "Prince's Dream Factory" in giant bright neon lighting up Broadway. You could find talented young singers/actors to perform while you chill in the VIP box everynight. Imagine the powerful moment that the end of "All My Dreams" would create as the crowd erupts in to applause! After it's a hit, call up Tim Burton and work out a screenplay for a Major Motion Picture! Maybe Johnny Depp would be interested! I'd love to see you ease back into film and this I believe is a great way to do it! Let's see if other orger support this.....

i think it's a great idea!!
I think under the cherry moon has really developed as a cult film with age and we need to further explore the deaper themes, which were maybe lost in all the fun (one tends to remember the bats rather than the insightful speech about the afterlife) (don't think it'll happen though)

I can see Prince working with Tim Burton...
I don't really understand what you mean by a Broadway Production of "The Dream Factory..." Although...I know that Prince has great material for movies. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Think Mulan Rouge mixed with The Wiz. It would kick ass!!! Also, even though Moonbeam Levels (Better Place To Die) is from the 1999 sessions, I think it would work great in Dream Factory. I added it to my Dream Factory mixtape and it fits right in with those tracks.

Broadway is a strip in New York City that features dozens of theatres that host musicals. A broadway production generally means a musical play. You get it now? And that say what?

lol... this is very cheeky though... asking Prince specifically to make a broadway show and then talk about the boots you have that would be behind the show...

Wasnt tim burton planning a Batman musical in the early 00's too (for Broadway). Aparently he consulted Jim Steinman about writing the music for it!
Burton & Prince is a much better combination. Remember when he wrote about Strays Of The World being a collaboration for a musical with a mystery person - anyone know who this was? I know he discussed writing a musical with many people, madonna included, but this idea seems to have gone away completely now.

To a point, you have to believe Prince gets off on all of us collecting his outtakes and alternative versions. Heck, alot of us feel that it's the strongest material he's produced. I would bet some of it he leaked himself. Don't let the internet sheriff role he plays now fool you, all artists feed off of compliments of their work even if it wasn't officially released. But this could all be discussed in another forum. I really want the Dream Factory play and film to happen. Maybe Tim Burton or Johnny Depp could talk him into it. Tim? Johnny? You guys out there?
