It's all about popularity and marketability. Nameless/faceless session/studio musicians simply aren't responsible for selling big units and bringing in the big bucks - they're not the marketable factor in the equation...
Example: The reason the song Can't Help Falling In Love was a big hit was because Elvis sung it, HE was huge at the time, it was in HIS film, and HE had an enormous following - it was not because joe blow wrote it or freddy nobody played bass on it in the studio...

But she's none of those things, she has no vision, no contribution of her own to speak of. She is meticulously crafted by others, and placed into the market as an image.
