Prince..Live in Las Vegas DVD is really...  bad....does anyone agree with me. I just watched it again, the cinematography is a complete mess. The mix is a complete mess! My two biggest pet peeves....Nikka Costa duet and Whole lotta Love....why during any of his guitar solo did the camera man decide to not focus on him and his instrument?? I love the dvd, just don't like that it was edited so damn much.

I have been at a friends house recently and watched quite a few other artist DVD. I saw one with Sting that was outstanding! it wasn't all grainy and you could hear every single instument and see it played very clearly! 'Love will be your Soldier' - Nikka Costa

I Like the "Live in Las Vegas," DVD..and I thought the duet with Nikka was great..I bought Nikka's cd...after I saw their performance...

The grainy footage was part of the concept of not putting out a slick produced product like the Sting concert, to put out a "real" collection of clips. With raw "real" sound.

It was kinda rough to watch with all the editing and as one who was at the show, it was disappointing that it wasn't the entire show but I'm glad he released it. It was better than nothing at all. It kinda makes me laugh how the majority in here want more official DVD's but then when something like this comes out, everyone complains to high heaven about it and then fans wonder why we don't get another DVD. I'm not saying we shouldn't have our views and voice them, hell I complained too, but I'm not shocked or surprised at why there wasn't a DVD for Musicology or the 21 Nights tour. It would be the same song and dance. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

When I was a kid, I would sometimes pull my toque down over my whole head, so I could barely see or hear, and walk around bumping into stuff.
Watching the Vegas dvd reminds me a lot of that experience.  |
