Souncheck files Maybe a little late + I don't know if anybody has mentioned already.
Did you notice that the quality of "TOKYO" and "OSAKA" is far better than the others. The sound quality is superb, the mix is stunning... It looks like mastered files for an upcoming CD (?). Japan only EP ??? Check it out. Maybe you agree.

Osaka and Tokyo both sound like studio recordings. Has anybody confirmed that they are soundchecks? Tokyo is also the only track attributed to 'Prince' and not 'Prince and the NPG', and I wouldn't mind betting it's a solo studio recording. ??? Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

I at the Osaka sound check. The NPGMC was present and that recording was made from one of a few improv. jams at the soundcheck. The rain/thunder sound was added later. Right after the soundcheck, I talked with Scottie P. (Prince's Sound Engn.) Our conversation was interupted by Prince telling Scottie "Were going to make an album tonight", He was telling Scottie to mix the show as for a recording, so joecoco your theroy could be correct, but you never know what Prince will decide to do with the recordings.

Are you a member of the NPGMC? If yes, you have to modify the "Empty Room" link they sent you, replacing "Empty Room" with Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya or Copenhagen to access these downloads. If you're NOT a member of the NPGMC you'll have to scour prince.org to find out where else you can get hold of the downloads. Either way ut'll be worth your while because they're all brilliant.

OSAKA, JAPAN REPORT NOV. 28 2002 The NPG started playing at 4pm (working on parts of Everlasting now and 1+1+1=3) and we were let in at 4:30. At one point Prince came down (unescorted) from the stage and walked around checking the mix in the house. The soundcheck lasted 1 hour and 15 min. OSAKA SOUNDCHECK HAIR 777-9311 INTRO (Bass duel with R. Smith) (Slow Funk Jam) (Funk Jam) AROUND When Doves Cry/Alexandera de Paris (Teaser) (Looong Creepy Funk Jam) (THis is what was released to the NPGMC as the "Osaka" download.

TOKYO is a masterpiece... Listen to the keyboards towards the end. When will get the 70min. MegaMix Version? It is. I'll have to visit Tokyo now. I don't know why, but it only occurred to me right now that I should have flown there from Singaproe for the show. It's about six hours, but hey, I could have taken a holiday. I hope so much that there is a Celebration 2003... Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.
