Graffiti Bridge

How bad is it? I hear it's a sequel to PR but WAY worse. Opinions
Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

It's a turdfest of the highest order, a complete shit-sandwich.

The title alone makes my blood boil. and so does the title track, tho i've not heard it in about 18 years, it's a horrible memory, like when a bigger boy thru a big spider in my face when i was a kid. it upsets me to remember.

What's so bad about it. I'm assuming the acting is terrible, but Prince isn't an actor smile So what else is particularly bad?

I never understood Prince fans that have to ask first, it's good and in years to come will be a collectors item.

eek

Err, no, it won't. trust me.

Acting is awful, as are the staged performances, the sets, the script. 'Tick Tick Bang' is perhaps the most cringeworthy thing i've ever seen Prince do. Try watching it with a non-fan!

Really, it's bollocks from start to finish. no redeeming qualities at all.

The worst thing about it is it being the execution of such a jumble of half-baked and tacked-on ideas. The Purple Rain sequel angle being one of them.

The film is shocking but the album is good. It's a shame-Parade suffered from the association of album/film tie in and yet is probably his most sophisticated album. GB-mmm. It's the fact that it is all studio set and surreal. It reaks of indulgence and I think it was here that the Prince market began to split between FANS and general music buyers. Here on in you either loved him or hated him-Diamonds and Pearls was probably the only exception in the following 10years. Now Prince has slipped in to legend and doesnt receive such passion-which for Prince is good but for us.....

For this film,Prince really should have hired a director and someone to help him write a decent script. At an early stage,Al Magnoli (director of "Purple Rain") was supposed to direct but he and Prince had a falling out confused

A few of the musical sequences are exciting ("Elephants and Flowers" for example) but there's not too much else to recommend about this film.See it once then put it out of your memory, lol.

I recently bought this to add to my collection...I paid £3.99 for it I think. Might have been £2.99 - can't remember. Either way, I wish I had spent that on something more useful. Even Prince wasn't enough to save this. Shame really.

Seriously, it's not even funny how bad it is.
Even when i was at most MOST Prince fan-boy stage, we saw this at the movies and was like "you have GOT to be kidding me".

Prince's ego RUN AMOK.

Ingrid Chavez has to be the WORST "actress" in HISTORY.
Prince decides that Morris and the Time are "gangsters"?
Ingrid's an "angel"?
And to top it ALL off, instead of using the MUCH better Time songs from "Pandemonium", he made them use the crap songs that ended up in the GB soundtrack.

THE WORST MOVIE OF ALL TIME.

and it makes a shit sandwich sound tasty.

It depends on how you look at it! It's very artsy...the setting is more of an on stage theatre "musical style" prop....kinda moody. The acting isn't very good but I don't think that was the point of making this movie, but more the messages that lies within and the music.

It's cheesey and fun, and I think that if Prince was trying to get himself nominated for an Academy award for acting...the move would have been done in an entirely different way. The music is awesome and the dancing will blow you away. I think you should get it, but watch with you right brain and not your left. If you look at it the right way it does leave a very interesting artistic impression...it's almost like a bizarre dream-scape.... wink

The album is patchy, but has some serious jams on it.

The movie must be watched to understand that it's "just around the corner" and really bad.

When Under the Cherry Moon and Graffiti Bridge were both released on DVD, in or around 2004/5, did they have Dolby Digital 5.1 sound and, were they digitally remastered? If not, what is the quality of the sound and picture?

in this film prince looks like a bearded lady and acts like a little girl

it´s horrible

around this time there was a rumour that he wanted to play batman in the film batman

if he´d have been allowed to have done that i´d never have forgiven him

Saw it. Not as bad as I thought. Definitly corny, but it's Prince and I think in most parts it was meant to be dramatic (so hard to see green when there's so much blue). The music was meh, Theives in the Temple, Elephants & Flowers, etc were okay. I thought the plot in essence was good. Two musical rivals who end up in a musical duel. Good idea. But the side plot with the Angels and shit. It was executed poorly.

Ingrid=wow. She's beautiful (never seen her before). And Morris and Jerome=hilarious
Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

Just didn't deserve to be made, its a collection of average music videos badly tacked together with a paper thin plot and cartoonish acting from everyone even Morris. Saddest is TC Ellis, "yo Prince when u gonna let me rap?". If there is a God hopefully neva.

Good for a completist only
