So Prince has his sampling machine back? Remember his sample sets in London?

Just him and a looping/sampling set, keyboard, a bass and guitar set up so he can freak out on cool beats.

Who needs a band?

I wish Prince would do this and get freaky with equipment again;

For your information; this is Imogen Heap getting funky, the song's called "Just For Now" and the performance is GENIUS.

It was performed live at Studio 11 103.1FM

This is maybe what Prince would do with your post if he had an Org sampling machine

I've seen a few clips of P's 21 Nights and my mouth just drop'd open. It kind of took me back 2 the days when I was doin' Hip Hop and workin' in the studio. True genius when I was him do that. Singin' over his pre-recorded music and havin' a sing along with "the fam" ...

Pure Genius ...
Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

I would not say that, myself. I thought it was a rather fun, but cheap shot; just hinting at some of those genius songs and then turn his back and play Play That Funky Music was a bit of losing my hardon in a silly way.

I would even up the ante on that. It wasn't fun at all, it was the most cringeworthy I've ever seen him (yes I've seen Graffiti Bridge). It was like Prince and his my-first-sony keyboard. Samples, like barbarella used, okay, using a pre-fab beat live (greatest romance beat at his one nite alone shows) is pushing it, but this sampler? Ugh, so, sooo sad. One minute before you hear him boasting about real music by real musicians.

Imogen heap, wow! That's one of the best ways I've seen someone use that one-man-band technique, because she chooses what samples she wants for the different parts of the song. Performance is flawless! Love the eyes! batting eyes

I rather liked the sampler sets at the o2 shows - although I wanted to do this brick when he only played the opening bars to 'Erotic City' and refused to play the actual song!

I noticed the 'oh I only do real music, played with real instruments... but hey, listen to the pre-recorded music on my keyboard' bit too Sander, although it didn't spoil the shows for me... The 'Funky music, malco-ordinated white man pulled from the audience, dancing' bit had me clenching my buttocks in shame though.
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..

Yea! bring those keyboards on the next Mini-Tour(play hole songs-as it makes me crazy when I just feel the Groove of the song-he changes the groove-then you loose me-when Ya got a Good jam it needs to be felt & enjoyed abit-not ended-thus we need them 3-4 hr jam sessions & do with it what You want with a little help from Your Bass or bring Mico back if you need to get lost in da grove! As everyone likes the way You Move-no matter how!

Maybe he can take a quick flight from Cali to Vegas in Mid-Oct for some pre-book Gigs! He's gotta know he can sell-it whiles't Hot! So! What's up??? Come on Mr. Man! You ready enough! Bring it!

Peace & Love!

I think we definitely could have done without the 'Funky' neutral White Boy part! The sampler sets were ok, I think it was just a way of getting as much into the concert as possible, it was only supposed to be a bit of fun I think....he covered nearly every angle between the main shows and the aftershows, so nothing too serious! biggrin I can't see why so many people have a go at him for doing a short stint of samples, when it's totally obvious that everything else was indeed REAL music, and probably the best you're ever going to experience, seems a bit petty - not talking to anyone in particular btw! razz

Here's another example that's a bit less musical but much more creative.
